Nail Issues<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Toenail problems are very common, and most can be managed at home.

Thick Nails<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thick toenails are very common and usually develop slowly over time. The nail becomes harder, thicker and more difficult to cut. It may also change colour, feel uncomfortable in shoes, or crumble at the edges.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Fungal Nails<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fungal nail infections are very common. The nail may turn yellow, white or brown, become thicker, or crumble at the edges. In most cases they do not cause pain and do not need treatment. If your nail is not bothering you, it is fine to leave it alone.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Involuted (Curved) Nails<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An involuted nail is one that curves more than usual at the sides. This is very common and often causes no problems at all. In some cases, the curved edges can press into the surrounding skin, causing pain or discomfort.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Ingrown Toenails<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An ingrown toenail is where the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness and swelling. In some cases it can cause bleeding or a discharge of fluid or pus.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
