NHS Lothian Integrated Foot & Ankle Service aims to provide a person-centred, safe and quality service for people with foot and ankle issues.
The service uses patient pathways to provide appropriate care and seamless transition between the key services involved.
These services include:
- Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners
- Advanced Podiatry Practitioners
- Orthopaedics
- Radiology
If you have been referred to this service, your referral will be reviewed to decide who would be best to see you first.
Some people will see one of our Advanced Practice Physiotherapists or Podiatrists. They are specialist who can arrange investigations if required and work closely with Orthopaedic Consultants.
If required you will be referred to meet a member of the Orthopaedic team for a consultation. Very few people with foot or ankle pain require an operation.
