The Acute Neuropsychology service is based at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
<\/figcaption><\/svg><\/span><\/a><\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Acute Neuropsychology provides support to adults who have recently sustained a neurological injury or illness. It is also available to those who are experiencing an acute problem related to a chronic neurological condition. The service assesses cognition, psychological well-being and behavioural change. Cognitive rehabilitation and psychological therapies for difficulties related to those neurological illnesses and injuries are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals who use this service have a DCN consultant and are either inpatients on the DCN neurology or neurosurgery wards, or who live at home and visit the department as an outpatient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
