Coming to terms with this and adapting to changes can be hard. Some common difficulties experienced by people living with a neurological condition can include:

Low mood or depression

Worry or anxiety

Frustration, irritation or anger

Fatigue or sleep problems

Relationship difficulties

It can sometimes be challenging to know what you can do to make things better. Many people adapt as they learn more about their own condition and make changes to their life. However, sometimes difficulties can persist and interfere with your day-to-day life. At these times, it can be helpful to seek advice and support.

The neuropsychology service offers time-limited psychological therapy to support people who are experiencing difficulties with adjusting to their condition. You can be referred to our services via your GP or by other health professionals working with you.

“My clinician listened to me and helped me to understand what I was thinking and feeling was normal.”

“Therapy gave me the confidence to take control.
