The NDN and NHS Lothian Huntington’s service, are helping to identify people who may be interested in taking part in the iMarkHD study. <\/strong>

This research study is trying to better understand the changes in the brain that happen when a person has Huntington\u2019s disease<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This study is based at King’s College London<\/u><\/strong><\/u><\/strong>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Happens In This Study?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will have two types of imaging scans; one called Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and another called Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), as well as taking part in several physical and cognitive assessments, and blood tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I Join This Study?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To take part in this research study, you must also meet these 4 requirements<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Your Diagnosis:<\/strong> Both people with and without<\/strong>, either a diagnosis of HD OR carrying the HD gene mutation<\/strong>, can take part. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Your Age:<\/strong> You are between 21 and 75 years old<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Your Permission:<\/strong> You must be able to understand what happens in the study and sign a form (called informed consent<\/strong>) to say you agree to join.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Your Time:<\/strong> This study is based at King’s College London.<\/strong> You must do your best to attend all your study visits, and follow the rules of the study until it ends.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Study Length<\/strong>: 3 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Number of appointments<\/strong>: 10 visits<\/p>\n\n\n\n
