Peter Foley
<\/strong>BSc (Hons), MBChB, PhD, MRCP (Neurology)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a Consultant Neurologist with NHS Lothian and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, with affiliations to the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences and the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic. My NHS work encompasses general and acute neurology, with specialty clinics in multiple sclerosis and Huntington’s disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I completed my PhD at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, funded by the Rowling Scholar scheme, focusing on the mechanisms of neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis, supervised by Professors Chandran, Fallon, Colvin, and Tracey across the Universities of Edinburgh and Oxford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My research interests centre on symptoms such as pain and fatigue, what these tell us about underlying disease processes, and evidence-based management approaches, with a particular focus on people living with multiple sclerosis and Huntington’s disease. I am principal investigator on several projects, including the Octopus multi-arm multi-stage trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside my research, I am actively involved in teaching and mentoring, including PhD co-supervision and mentoring through the NIHR Associate PI scheme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
