We particularly encourage parents to attend morning ward rounds to discuss the care of your baby in partnership with the NICU\/SCBU team<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>Siblings:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Siblings are welcome at your baby\u2019s cot side when accompanied by a parent\/s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siblings must be up-to-date with their immunisations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siblings must not come to NICU\/SCBU if having symptoms of cold, cough, upset stomach and must be symptom free for 48 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the sibling has come into contact with chickenpox or has a rash, you must inform the nurse in charge and visiting will not be permitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parents are asked to monitor sibling behaviour and well-being during their NICU\/SCBU visit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On occasion, staff may ask siblings to leave the room due to unit activity or procedures being carried out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There may be restrictions periodically throughout the year dependant on seasonal viruses and community outbreaks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siblings can access the sitting room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please note that children under 14 years of age will not be able to come into the nurseries unless they are brothers or sisters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>Grandparents, Family and Friends<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grandparents, Family &amp; friends over 14 years of age may visit if accompanied by the baby\u2019s parents between 2pm\u20143pm and between 5pm-6pm .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grandparents, Family &amp; friends are restricted from visiting during all ward rounds .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only 2 visitors per day are allowed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At any one time, there must be no more than three people at the cotside in total. There may be situations where no more than 2 people are allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want your baby to be visited by your extended family and friends please do not allow them to touch or handle your baby unless baby is well and nursed in a cot in a low dependency nursery\u00a0 as this can increase your baby\u2019s risk of infection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grandparents, Family &amp; friends must not come to NICU\/SCBU if having symptoms of cold, cough, upset stomach and must be symptom free for 48 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If grandparents, family\/friends has come into contact with chickenpox\/shingles or has a rash, you must inform the nurse in charge and visiting will not be permitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For the safety of all, parents and their visitors need to identify themselves to enter the unit. At both units, you will be given parent passes and 2 visitors passes. These must be displayed at all times. Visitors will not be allowed in the unit without a pass.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Although we have given this guidance to protect babies and their families within the unit, there is some flexibility.
