Outpatient Department 5 (OPD5) is located on the ground floor of the hospital accessible adjacent to the East Entrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For a map and more detailed directions, please see the Going to Hospital<\/a> pages.<\/p>\n\n\n MSK outpatient Physiotherapy , Extended Scope Practitioners, Lower Limb Classes, Upper Limb Classes, Specialist Hand Therapy, Thermoplastic Splinting, BioDex Isokinetic Testing, Fracture Clinics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n OPD5 do not accept self referrals\/ GP referrals. Referrals to OPD5 are accepted via hospital consultants, orthopaedic clinics and fracture clinics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1st Appointment: The main aim of the first appointment is for the physiotherapist to gather a detailed understanding of the problems the patient presents with. The appointment may last 30-45\u202fminutes. The physiotherapist will ask general health questions and specific questions about your problem to help build an accurate picture to develop an appropriate treatment plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Follow up appointments: Follow up appointments are either face to face, phone or via video (link sent via email), mutually agreed between patient and physiotherapist and dependent on your progress. Please bring a list of your medications with you and any forms or questionnaires you have been asked to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Video appointments: Please see nhs.attendanywhere.com<\/a> to find out more information about how to attend your video appointment. To access your video appointment visit nhsattend.vc\/pmskosrie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During your physiotherapy assessment and treatment you may be required to remove your outer clothing (coats, scarf etc.) to allow the physiotherapist to fully assess your problem. If you\u00a0are\u00a0referred for assessment of a back or leg problem, please bring a pair of shorts or loose trousers. For a neck or shoulder problem, a vest top if you prefer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n You may be seen by either a male or female physiotherapist, if you have a specific preference please contact us prior to your appointment to arrange this. Similarly if you would like a chaperone present during your examination, please contact us in advance to arrange this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Missed appointments may result in a longer wait to be seen. If you cannot attend your physiotherapy appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. Please leave a message on the answering machine if there is no answer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you do not attend an agreed appointment and have not informed the physiotherapy department of this in advance, you will be removed from the waiting list.
