The Memory Assessment & Treatment Service (MATS) is an outpatient clinic, comprised of community mental health nurses, admin staff, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychiatrists and neurologists. There are close links with clinical research and third sector partners, such as Alzheimer Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Memory Assessment & Treatment Service (MATS) helps people aged 65 and over who are having problems with their memory or thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We assess memory problems, provide a diagnosis where possible, and offer support and medication if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our clinic is in an accessible building with parking on site and bus stops nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If someone is diagnosed with dementia, MATS nurses can monitor any new medication and help arrange support services, including referrals to Alzheimer Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MATS is only available to people living in Edinburgh. You must be able to attend appointments at the clinic, as we do not offer home visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please come to your appointment with someone who knows you well, such as a family member or close friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
