Volunteer parents meet with midwives, doctors and administrators six times a year. They work together to understand the issues, find solutions and make positive changes that benefit everybody. <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/maternity\/draft-maternity-voices-partnership-2\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/maternity\/draft-maternity-voices-partnership-2\/\">Learn more about our work here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We believe<\/strong> every baby should be given the best start in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We want<\/strong> maternity services where: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Everybody is respected as a person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everybody is listened to and every voice matters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everybody receives the care and support they need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"interested-in-supporting-our-work\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interested in supporting our work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By joining your local Maternity Voices Partnership you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take part directly in local decisions and make a real difference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bring your own views and experience to make sure maternity professionals listen to and understand the parents&#8217; perspective.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can choose a level of commitment that suits you:\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Become a full member<\/strong><br>Attend at least 4 meetings per year and take an active part in MVP working groups. Meetings are mostly held online at the moment. <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/maternity\/%20meeting-dates-and-venues\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/maternity\/%20meeting-dates-and-venues\/\">Click here for meeting dates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Become part of the MVP email group&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Work with the MVP mostly by email to take part in surveys, send comments on improvement ideas or to develop information leaflets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Become a contact person<\/strong><br>Share information about what local families are saying about their experience of NHS Lothian maternity services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the activities of the MVP are free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the members are volunteers but get compensation for out of pocket expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Interested?
