Pregnancy is the right time to start bonding with your baby. According to the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative<\/a>, we now know that building a strong relationship between parents and their new baby will give them the best possible start in life, and will help them to grow up happy and confident<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the UNICEF leaflets that is given out in Lothian on building your relationship with your baby is the\u00a0Building a Happy Baby leaflet<\/a>\u00a0and pregnancy is a good time to start thinking about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our NHS Lothian Feeding your baby website has information on the special relationship between you and your baby<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parent Education classes include a session on the importance of relationship building and early attachment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you meet your health visitor at 32-34 weeks, he\/she will also discuss the importance of early attachment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
