Lothian Work Support Service

We deliver a variety of different services. This currently includes Scottish Government Working Health Services Scotland, Long Covid Vocational Rehab Service and NHS Lothian & HSCP Employee Service.

To access the service, you must currently be in employment and live/work within the Lothians.

Support you and your employer to manage your health in work

Benefits

Everyone who attends the service is allocated a Case Manager, and has access to the below.

We work in partnership with employment rights and money advice services. Where appropriate a referral can be made to these agencies on your behalf.

Assessment of functional abilities for work

Symptom management: education, advice and support

A space to talk about how you are feeling

Job analysis and work site visits

Advice about reasonable adjustments / return to work plans

A chance to build strength and stamina needed to do your job

Money and benefits advice, as required

Employment rights advice, as required

Liaison with other services

Where appropriate it may be useful for us, with your consent to liaise with and share pertinent information with other health professionals involved in your care, for example your GP.

LWSS is OT-led and specialises in vocational rehabilitation, offering free and confidential healthcare support. It is a single point of access for anyone struggling with their health at work.

We accept referrals for both mental and physical health conditions.
