It is only a short journey from the city centre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This map shows the location of the Genetics Service on the WGH site and the main car parks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/geneticservice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2022\/08\/WGH_MAP_GeneticsBuilding2012-1024x763.jpg\" alt=\"Map graphic showing the location of the Genetics Building on the Western General Hospital site.\" class=\"wp-image-558\" width=\"768\" height=\"572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/geneticservice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2022\/08\/WGH_MAP_GeneticsBuilding2012-1024x763.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/geneticservice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2022\/08\/WGH_MAP_GeneticsBuilding2012-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/geneticservice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2022\/08\/WGH_MAP_GeneticsBuilding2012-768x572.jpg 768w, https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/geneticservice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/54\/2022\/08\/WGH_MAP_GeneticsBuilding2012.jpg 1433w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The Genetic Service is in the David Brock Building on Porterfield Road, across from the Royal Victoria Building and in front of the main Out Patient Building.<br>Entry is through the blue door at the Crewe Road end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By bus<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The following&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lothianbuses.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lothian buses&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;go to the Western General Hospital via the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19*, 24, 29*, 37*, 38, 22, 113*&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*also serves Princes St. East End and Waverley railway station<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>38 also serves New Royal Edinburgh Infirmary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of these buses stop on Crewe Road South close to the entrance to the hospital,&nbsp;while services 38 and 113 stop within the hospital grounds next to&nbsp;the Anne Ferguson Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By car<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>We are close to the main patient \/ visitor parking at Car Park 1:&nbsp; Enter the hospital from Crewe Road South at the Porterfield Road Entrance &#8220;C&#8221;.&nbsp; As there is restricted parking in the hospital it can be difficult to find a parking space, especially at peak times (8.45am-3pm Monday to Friday). The nearest on street paid parking is in Carrington Road.
