NHS Lothian Diabetes Managed Clinical Network (MCN)

The Diabetes MCN in Lothian was started in 2004. It is a group of healthcare professionals and lay people who work together to develop and improve the care delivered to patients.

The Aims of the Network

To minimise complications and premature death in those with diabetes

To maximise the quality of life of those with diabetes by detecting and treating the disease and its complications at an early stage

To provide equal access to high quality diabetes care for all residents of Lothian

To ensure all people with diabetes are given the right treatment by the right person at the right time in the right place
