{"id":531,"date":"2025-10-20T14:32:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T13:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/dentistsnew\/help-with-dental-problems\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T14:33:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T13:33:22","slug":"help-with-dental-problems","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/dentists\/help-with-dental-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"Help with Dental Problems"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registered Patients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a dental problem, you should call the dental practice that you normally attend in the first instance to discuss any treatment needs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have registered with a practice&nbsp;since June 2006 and&nbsp;have been seen for treatment, you will still be registered there (unless you have been notified otherwise).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside normal working hours (weekdays 6pm-8am and weekends),&nbsp;if you feel you have an urgent dental need, please contact NHS24 on 111.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unregistered Patients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unregistered patients requiring urgent dental care should refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/dentists\/emergency-dental-care\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"533\"><strong>Emergency Dental Care<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please do not visit a dental surgery without an appointment.
