Ward 54 is a 35 bedded mixed respiratory & cardiology ward. CF inpatients are accommodated in the 11 single rooms which have en-suite toilet and shower facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

The ward is staffed by nurses who are trained in CF care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rooms are furnished to a high standard with TV\/DVD with Freeview and Fridge etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FACILITIES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We have a physiotherapy gym where patients can take part in supervised individual sessions. Equipment includes:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Exercise bikes<\/li>
  • Dumbells<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    WHEN WILL I SEE THE DOCTOR?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    • On admission and then daily. Consultant ward review is twice a week on the ward round.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      AM I ALLOWED TO USE MY PHONE?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      • Yes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        • Yes, however, we are unable to heat up home made food. (Microwavable packaged meals are acceptable.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          CAN I LEAVE THE WARD?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
          • You must check with the nurses or CF Team if you wish to go out of the ward.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            FOOD SNACKS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
            • A variety of crisps, chocolate and juice are available daily- supplied by the ward.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n

              ADMISSION CHECKLIST:
              WHAT TO BRING INTO HOSPITAL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              When you are admitted to hospital please remember to bring the following items with you (we appreciate that not all these items will apply to everyone) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Your medication (both tablets and nebulised).<\/li>
              • Your nebuliser machine, including the chamber and lead.<\/li>
              • Your physiotherapy airway clearance devices.<\/li>
              • Your sinus clearance equipment<\/li>
              • Your BiPAP machine, tubing, mask \/ nasal cushions and lead<\/li>
