Workers<\/strong> working in Health and Social Partnerships in Lothian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the course is to provide participants with knowledge, awareness and practical skills to enable them to support individuals with the day to day care of  their stoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note this course is not suitable for registered nurses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns and&nbsp;which appliance to use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand the roles and responsibilities&nbsp;of stoma care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Describe a healthy stoma and when to escalate concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have an awareness of common problems with stomas&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An understanding of the psychological impact of stoma formation <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate practical skills&nbsp;of how to change a stoma bag<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Structure of Learning Session<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will be Health and Social Care employees in <strong>Clinical and Care Support Workers<\/strong> along with Registered Nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sessions are delivered by NHS Lothian Clinical Education Team and NHS Lothian Stoma Team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Face to face underpinning knowledge and practical learning and education session<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Day Session  09.00 &#8211; 14.00 (5 hours)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delivered in Comely Bank Centre clinical classroom using mannikins for practical activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide has-light-accent-grey-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">
