Standards for Nursing Education<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) set out new standards in 2018 for pre-registration Nursing education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These updated standards set out new roles and responsibilities for those supporting pre-registration nursing students undertaking practice learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standards for Nurse Education<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All registered nurses need to be aware of the standards and how they impact on their role in supporting pre – registration nursing students, whilst they undertake practice learning, in any environment, including care homes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Care Home Education Facilitators (CHEFs) <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NHS Lothian Care Home Education Facilitators Support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Care homes to implement and adhere to the standards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transition to Practice Supervisors<\/strong> and Practice Assessors<\/strong> for all previous mentors, sign off mentors and practice teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff who were not previously mentors, sign off mentors and practice teachers to prepare for Practice Supervisor<\/strong> and Practice Assessor <\/strong>roles<\/p>\n\n\n\n
