The Mental Health and Wellbeing Service offers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advice, signposting, professional learning, guidance on all aspects of Mental Health and Wellbeing&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual Interventions: Wellbeing; Let&#8217;s Introduce Anxiety Management (LIAM); Brief Behavioural Activation, Safety Planning&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group Work: Seasons for Growth, Bloom Resilience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Age Range: <\/strong>From 5 years &#8211; school leaving age<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In many cases the need for additional support will have been identified through the Child\u2019s Planning Process. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Team comprises a Coordinator and Mental Health Youth Workers, however the team also work with partner agencies to provide a wide range of mental health supports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information regarding the Single Point of Access, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/edubuzz.org\/girfecineastlothian\/support-services\/mental-health-and-wellbeing-team\">Mental Health &amp; Wellbeing <\/a>website which contains a wealth of information with links to a range of supports and services. Request for Assistance (RfA) for this service should be made via <a href=\"mailto:cypspa@eastlothian.gov.uk\">cypspa@eastlothian.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new MHWB RfA form can be found here: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/camhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2023\/04\/East-Lothian-Mental-Health-and-Wellbeing-SPA-Request-Form-Oct-2025-1.docx\">MH Assessment Form<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Neurodevelopmental Pathway<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Neurodevelopmental Pathway (ND Pathway) in East Lothian is the name for the series of steps that are followed when a child or young person is being assessed for one or more neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning\/Intellectual Disability (LD or ID), Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).  It takes a holistic approach to the assessment of a child\/ young person&#8217;s needs. This approach reduces the need for a family to explain their story repeatedly and the child\/ young person is only on one waiting list, rather that multiple ones for difference neurodevelopmental conditions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Age Range: <\/strong>From 0-18 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Access<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For Professionals:<\/em> Please note, the neurodevelopmental assessment pathway is an integrated clinical assessment model and for East Lothian <strong>referrals for children of all ages can be made by health or education professionals<\/strong> through the links below. Please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/camhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2022\/10\/Using-the-Dimensions-Tool-and-CAIDS_Q.pdf\">guidance<\/a> on completing the  Dimensions Tool prior to submitting a referral.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/dimensions.covwarkpt.nhs.uk\/Dimensions-Landing.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dimensions Tool<\/a> and Wellbeing Assessment and\/or Child\/Young Person\u2019s Plan with the completed <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/camhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2025\/11\/East-Lothian-ND-Assessment-Request-Form-Oct-2025-1.docx\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/camhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2025\/11\/East-Lothian-ND-Assessment-Request-Form-Oct-2025-1.docx\">ND Request for Assistance form<\/a> via the appropriate NHS mailbox dependant on age of the child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referrals for children <strong>aged 7 and over<\/strong> should be emailed to: <a href=\"mailto:loth.CAMHSeastlothianreferrals@nhs.scot\">loth.CAMHSeastlothianreferrals@nhs.scot<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referrals for children <strong>aged under 7<\/strong> should be emailed to: <a href=\"mailto:loth.childrenswaitinglistteam@nhs.scot\">loth.childrenswaitinglistteam@nhs.scot<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We sometimes find that we do not have enough information from parents about their views\/ concerns and that there is not enough information about the child\u2019s presentation at home. For this reason we are introducing a <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/camhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2023\/04\/Parent-ND-Additional-Information-v4-Oct-2024.pdf\">Parent ND Additional Information form<\/a> that consists of questions that parents can complete independently and should be submitted along with the ND Request for Assistance form. They do this by supporting and sustaining a network of volunteers, coaches, leaders and teachers who in turn deliver extra curricular physical activity and sport before, during and after school and in the wider community. All primary and secondary schools in East Lothian have a coordinator assigned to their school. Please contact your local Active Schools Co-ordinator for further information or to find out about current programmes and training opportunities in your area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ASD \/ ADHD \/ ADD Support Group for Parents and Carers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a parent of carer of a child or young person who has autism, ADHD\/ADD (or in the process of being assessed), and live in East Lothian, you are welcome to join the parent support group which meets every 4-6 weeks in North Berwick Community Centre. Meetings are advertised via a private Facebook group. Please contact Jan Gaunt, 0-8 Years Family Worker, Support from the Start, on 07500 131285 for details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bridges Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bridges Project is a local charity that supports young people in East Lothian to help them manage the transition from adolescence to young adulthood, and life beyond school. The Bridges Project offer one-to-one and groupwork services which are flexible and tailored to meet the needs and ambitions of young people. They are offered on a voluntary basis and are free and confidential. Young people and their workers and family are always welcome to come for a visit, by appointment, to find out more about what the service offers before an official referral is made. The project has been running in Scotland since its pilot in 2014 and now delivers surf therapy programmes to over 100 young people a year.
