In emergencies, parents or carers should contact their GP within office hours and NHS 24, out of hours.
NHS 24 will make contact with CAMHS USC (within operational hours) or on call psychiatry.
Outpatient teams offer appointments in hospitals and local health centres. They may work with a child or young person on their own, in a group, or with their family.
GPs, social workers, teachers and other professionals can make a referral to an outpatient team. You should take the time to explain to the child or young person why you are contacting CAMHS.
Our outpatient teams are located in Edinburgh (North and South), Midlothian, West Lothian and East Lothian.
