To do this you will be asked to stand whilst she positions your breast between two plates on the mammogram machine. The machine will then press the breast firmly between the plates for a few seconds to take two pictures of each breast. You should stay as still as possible while she takes the pictures so we can get the best possible picture of the breast tissue. We will also send your results to your GP.
