Clinics providing Artificial Eyes in Scotland are held in Edinburgh, Inverness, Orkney and Shetland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Operating from our base in The Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion \u2013 NHS Lothian\u2019s Ophthalmology unit, the department is staffed by&nbsp;<strong>Stephen Harris<\/strong>, a full-time Ocularist with twenty-five years of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-light-accent-green-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading colourtextbold\" id=\"all-prostheses-are-issued-under-the-nhs-and-supplied-free-of-charge-to-all-patients\">All prostheses are issued under the NHS and supplied&nbsp;free of charge&nbsp;to all patients. <\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We provide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Custom-made acrylic prostheses<\/strong>&nbsp;constructed from socket impressions,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cosmetic shells<\/strong>&nbsp;for covering blind\/unsightly\/traumatised eyes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Replacements<\/strong>&nbsp;for worn, damaged or lost prostheses,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Surgical conformer shells<\/strong>&nbsp;to requesting wards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and&nbsp;<strong>full after-care<\/strong>, follow-up appointments, advice and patient information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Referrals and enquiries are welcomed from the North of Scotland, Scottish Islands, South East of Scotland, Lothian and the Scottish Borders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Artificial Eyes in Scotland Originating in 1948, NHS Lothian&rsquo;s Ocular Prosthetics service is the longest established provider of Artificial Eyes in Scotland, with a long standing history of service to all persons with Artificial Eyes.
